Good Friday – What does the Cross mean to you?

Good Friday – What does the Cross mean to you?

The bible is the authoritative word of God. Yet it is the most contested book but also the most proven to be true. Over and over again, the Bible has been found to be accurate in its places, dates, and records of events. No other religious document comes even close. No other ancient literature has even come close to the confirmed accuracy of the bible.

This book – the Word of God, tells us in Hebrews 10:12-14 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God, 13 waiting from that time until His enemies should be made a footstool for His feet. 14 For by a single offering He has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.

By Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, He perfected us and saved us. When we turn ourselves in repentance to Jesus we become His sons and daughters. It’s a free gift available for everyone, no matter how great or small our sins…Sin is sin.. whether it is an attitude of bitterness towards someone or murder.

This holy book, God’s Word tells us in 1 Peter 1:18,19  that you (we) were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.

God’s Word is our sword and shield. It is the weapon that God has given you to speak the truth, refute the attacks of the enemy and dispel the enemies’ lies.   Jesus has told us in John 10:10 -The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

When the enemy comes against you speak God’s Word, His Truth.  Use the weapons that God has given you. They are found in His Word.. take time to learn from it and use it.
