Serve

“Each of you has been blessed with one of God’s many wonderful gifts to be used in the service of others” 1 Peter 4:10

At Grand Valley Christian Centre we believe that serving is an absolutely essential element in our spiritual growth. We are all called to serve the mission of Christ in the world. Each and every one of us has been given gifts whereby we follow the example of Jesus Christ in serving others.

Serving others is the basis of our growth into a Christian community. In serving, we come to know God better as we see His love and goodness demonstrated in practical ways.
Our focus is on serving our congregation, our community, and our World.

Serving our congregation – Finding your place to serve at GVCC is a great way to connect with others while using your unique gifts and talents. Whether you enjoy being with children or adults, serving behind the scenes or up front, volunteering once a month or once a week, we believe there’s a perfect fit for you where you’ll find fulfillment and a few new friends too.

Serving our community – We want to be used by God in our neighborhoods and communities so that His love and hope will be deeply experienced in the lives of others. When we are feeding the hungry, or driving our bus to get single moms to the grocery store, or standing alongside children and families, we offer hope and uphold the dignity of each person as created in God’s image.

Partnering with other community groups and non-profit ministries, such as the Family and Children’s Services and Christians Against Poverty, gives us more opportunities to reach out to the under-resourced, the marginalized and the hurting.

Serving our world – Jesus told us to share his love with the whole world. At Grand Valley Christian Centre we believe we do this most effectively by partnering with international organizations such as Elim Fellowship. Through prayer, volunteering, and financial support, we are working together to make a difference in people’s lives.
