Who do you say I am? Matthew 16: 13-21

Who do you say I am? Matthew 16: 13-21

Jesus was not asking what His disciples knew about Him, but was asking them what their convictions were about Him. He wanted the disciples to understand His true identity because that revelation is what would shape their relationship.

What is your conviction about Jesus?  Your conviction will affect every area of your life. Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Our Father is not distant. When we see Jesus, we see the Father.

Jesus doesn’t define us by our weaknesses or inadequacies. Our ‘stuff’ doesn’t dictate our identity. Jesus defines us by His destiny and purpose.

God is building His church through each of us and nothing can stop God’s purpose. It doesn’t matter how far we’ve fallen, or messed up. When we return to Him, He can restore us, redeem us and lead us into victory.
