Pursuing Community – Communion

1 Corinthians 10:16-17 (NIV)

16 Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? 17 Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all share the one loaf.

Before Communion, we

1) remember Jesus. In Him all things are held together. He has broken down every wall of division between us & God and between you and me.

2) Anticipate – 1 Corinthians 11:26  (NIV) We look forward until Christs return. We have a living hope with substance through
Christ’s resurrection. We have an inheritance reserved for us in heaven.

3)  We proclaim the GOOD NEWS of the Gospel of Christ as the sacrifice for sin. There is no other name than Jesus by which we may be saved. Hi has made us one body, one family. Everyone has value.

4) We participate in His body and blood and in this community of love and grace. 1 Corinthians 10:16, 17  (NIV)16 Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? 17 Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all share the one loaf.

We are all one. Are you valuing God’s people and treating them with respect through your words and actions?

We come together to celebrate this act of communion. A shared hope and future in Christ.
