Hebrews study – Confident Faith- The Glory of God’s Son – Lesson 2

The book of Hebrews: “Confident Faith in Turbulent Times” Lesson 2 – “The Glory of the Son” Hebrews 2:5-18, 3:1-6 “It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking.” Hebrews 2:5. We live in turbulent times and we cannot tell what tomorrow will bring. The question is, what will determine our future? Who is our future tied to? Who will we look to for help? Who has the authority, and the power to determine our destiny? The writer tells us: “We know that God did not put the future world under the power of angels.” Hebrews 2:5. The world to come will be ruled by someone. So we need to know where to put our faith, and where to focus. In the previous lesson, we learned that this book was written for a group of believers who were living in unprecedented times, and facing unprecedented pressure. Much like us, their faith was being tested in unprecedented ways. For them, and for us, the message Hebrews gives is that everything we need is in Jesus. For this lesson, we are studying Hebrews chapter 2, verses 5-18, and the first six verses of chapter 3 4”.
