Example to follow from John the Baptist
John the Baptist was preparing the way for Jesus, calling people to repentance through confession and baptism. Matthew 3:1-6 For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he said“ The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; make his paths straight.’ ”4 Now John wore a garment of camel’s hair and a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey. 5 Then Jerusalem and all Judea and all the region about the Jordan were going out to him, 6 and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.
John’s work was to reveal Jesus to Israel- to call the people to repentance through confession and baptism. We who believe in Jesus have a clearer view of Jesus and know that it is our responsibility to point others to Jesus.
Wherever God’s kingdom manifests itself there is opposition…a violent one trying to stop, displace what God has placed in us. No one can stop the reign of God.
Search yourself. Any pursuit, belief, circumstance that tells you that God’s Word is not worth your attention or action is violence. The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us and give us the victory.
